Shaun, Dr. Park und Dr. Melendez behandeln Tara, eine junge Frau mit Immunschwäche, die in einer Plastikkapsel abgeschirmt werden muss. Auf Dr. Parks Vorschlag hin, soll Tara durch Gentherapie geheilt werden, was bei ihr auf Ablehnung stößt. Dr. Melendez ist immer noch tief getroffen vom Tod seiner Patientin Patty und geht nun Operationen extrem vorsichtig an. Dr. Claire Brown und Dr. Morgan Reznick wollen einen krebskranken Buben, der zu erblinden droht, mit einem Ausflug aufmuntern.
