Zoey bietet Ted an, ihn mit ihrer attraktiven Cousine Honey zu verkuppeln. Als sich die Freunde abends im McLarens treffen, hält sich Ted aber von ihr fern, und so nutzt Barney seine Chance. Als Zoey von Teds Zurückhaltung erfährt, ist sie insgeheim erleichtert. Ted jedoch will nun den Kontakt zu Zoey abbrechen, weil sie verheiratet ist und er seine Gefühle für sie unterdrücken muss. Doch als Zoey ihn wegen seines Verhaltens zur Rede stellt, verstrickt er sich in Ausreden.
