Traveling with the Jinju

This film takes us on a journey through rural China with a traveling opera troupe. Filmed in the style of a documentary road movie, it leads us through the landscapes and isolated communities of northern China. Day after day, year after year, the actors travel to keep alive the "Jinju", an ancestral art that has for centuries played an essential role as popular entertainment.
