Ecuador's railway has seen a renaissance in recent years. The country boasts what is widely acknowledged as the most spectacular train line in South America. The Trans-Andean railroad takes in the infamous Nariz del Diablo, or Devil's Nose, a mountain with almost perpendicular walls.
